about

accfAll Star Kids was originally set up as The “Andy Cole Children’s Foundation” in 2000. The charity is established with the aim to help children primarily in countries of the southern African region.

The charity was set up after Andrew Cole (Premiership footballer) visited Zimbabwe. As a result a group of people got together and founded the charity to work with children in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi. They started out funding projects like the Mbuya Nehanda Children’s Home, a mobile clinic in Harare and supporting thousands of children through a schools project in Livingstone, Zambia.

The “Andy Cole Children’s Foundation” wound down its work in 2003 in its original form. A number of the former trustees have continued to support small scale grass roots projects and have been developing new ways to continue the legacy and expand it potential. As a direct result of this in 2008 the charity changed its name to All Star Kids to better reflect the work it does and relaunched.

We now focus our work around these two mission statements:

  • To ensure every child has access to a safe, productive and loving atmosphere to reach their full potential, in a happy, caring and understanding environment.
  • All Star Kids believe that all children have the right to be free from hunger, need, neglect and abuse.

Our focus today:

All Star Kids supports disadvantaged children. Primarily this work is focused in the southern African region of Zambia and Zimbabwe. All Star Kids believe in the right of children to ensure they enjoy being children and can grow up as well rounded individuals. All Star Kids works with all children regardless of their race, colour, sex, language, political or other opinion, national, ethnic or social origin, property or disability. All Star Kids fights against any disadvantage to children, with the purpose to bring about positive change. We will help and encourage communities to support their children by providing them with access to a safe, productive and loving environment, to reach their full potential. This includes ensuring they have a safe place to live, access to educational opportunities / skills training and access to future employment.

We have a number of projects which we support, further details can be found on the projects pages.
