More Micro Loans Added

We are pleased to announce that we have added a few more loans to our Micro Loans pilot. We are really pleased to report the success of the pilot so far. We have had a couple of loans repaid which is great – this has enabled us to re loan that money to others.

Our most recent loan was made to Mary. She is married, has three children and is a graduate of the local junior high school. For the last 10 years, she has worked as a trader, selling maize at a heavily-trafficked area known as Shama Junction. She uses her income to help pay for her family’s expenses, mostly school fees. She has applied for a loan to buy maize to sell to her customers, and will use the increased income made possible by this loan to expand her business and support her children’s education.

We hope to expand the programme to 50 loans over the coming months. Please get involved.
